I love to kvetch out loud!
I was honoured today to receive "The Whine That Came in from the Cold" award at Phantom Scribbler's Wednesday Whining. My award-winning whine had all the classic elements of this blog: particularly complaints about my qualifying exam proposal and spider solitaire. I think whining actually helped my progress in both areas and it was definitely fun. Thanks Phantom!

Hey, you're very welcome. It was brilliant, and I'm not just saying that because I have *never* won a game of spider solitaire at the most difficult level.
(Hangs head in shame.)
I hadn't won a game until this year either - it requires the weeks of intense dedication that only a looming hugely-important deadline can provide.
