mittens!

I've never knitted a whole thing before (just some rows of a scarf that would never have been worn, when I was 12), but I decided not to let that stop me making mittens. I wasn't at all confident that I'd get anything wearable out of the exercise, but so far it looks surprisingly like actual fabric! I've never had mittens before, either, and I'm inordinately excited at the prospect.
