If you want students to choose the other lecturers' questions to answer, don't make yours much shorter and easier than theirs.

He seemed so confused about why everyone answered his one sentence "how are these things alike and different?" question instead of one of the paragraph-long ones, with multiple conditional parts. I wonder if he'll figure it out for himself, because none of us was going to tell him the real reason.
