You're responding to comments this week? Cool! Then in that case, how are you doing today, what's your favorite color, what's your favorite food item to cook, what do you miss the most about C'land, which celebrity do you like the least, and if you were a tool which tool would you be and why?
thanks B* and sheepish! And don't worry, sheepish, you added extra, original content, anyway. I may not be able to keep replying to comments if you take advantage like that :P (I'm doing okay - I got here at 9.30 this morning! but i haven't done anything non-blog-related yet...; purple maybe, or red, and yellow makes me happy; anything cake-like; sunshine, corn syrup-free food; I can't think of any celebrities I have an opinion about... maybe Tom Cruise?; I don't think i know any tools either. something that gets forgotten about at the bottom of the box) Phantom, so maybe by the time I'm 90 I'll be okay? yay! :)
have I been complaining about corn syrup too much? It tastes so much worse than real sugar and it's in practically everything here so I blame it for everything that tastes wrong to me (chocolate, caramel, bread, flavoured-milk powder, jelly, glace fruit etc). There's actually a campaign against high fructose corn syrup, but their issues are more about health than taste.
we have a pipette in the lab that has a label on it saying "I suck!" but it's there because it actually doesn't. People always think the label's a joke and try to use it anyway.
hi badger! nice to see you here :) Every mention of cake today increases my cravings, especially since labmate actually had cake for lunch... Any suggestions for what type I should make?
Hey, Lucy! I have read off and on for quite a while, but I've only commented very sporadically--actually don't think I've left a comment since way back in the first weeks of the blog. But nice to see you again. I'm adding you to my blogroll ... finally.
Oh well, meantime I'll settle for memeing you. I know you just did the four things one, but this might come in handy some day when you want to blog but don't know about what.... Happy meme-time.
Hello, fellow meme-ee. On corn syrup: I was given a book called _Fat Land: How Americans Became the Fattest People in the World_ by Greg Critser. Corn Syrup is scary. The politics behind its wide spread use are bad enough, but its effect on insulin production and therefore the onset of diabetes (type II in ten year olds!)renders its ongoing use a public health issue of staggering preportions. I think I always knew that Coca-cola was bad for you, but after reading this book, I have dubbed it 'the Black Death'. I have taken to reading labels specifically to identify whether corn syrup is an ingredient so I can avoid it.
Hi galaxy! I'll have to read that book. Hopefully it will stay easier to find corn syrup-free foods where you are. Here even my "100% natural" granola bar has high fructose corn syrup...

I got mine to stay at the top by changing the date of the post to Sunday, Jan. 15.

Curses! B* and her quick trigger finger. Can you just delete her comment so that mine looks more original, please? Thanks!
Oh, I can and have been as shy as you. No doubt about it. It gets better as you get older, I think.
thanks B* and sheepish!

Do you have corn syrup issues?

MMMmmmmmm, cake......
You know you're establishing a precedent by answering me.
Tom Cruise... yeah, I'm afraid of clowns too.
As to tool, you can choose things like hemostats and pipettes too. Oh wait, you had better not answer "A pipette, because I suck!" now! :)

delurking to say that i've eaten two pieces of cake today.
oh, and to say hello.

Hi Scrivener! I have a music review post to write since asking you about the Decemberists.
Hi SFTR! Have some chocolate cake I brought back from Phantom's delurking pixie party :)
I sometimes comment and sometimes lurk.
I'll take some of that chocolate cake.
If I had cake, I would be eating it. Hi, Lucy!
hi Jo(e)! hi Songbird! Help yourself to some chocolate cake (as long as jo(e) hasn't eaten it all)
Hi lucy! Got any cake left? :)
hi luckybuzz! Sure, have some carrot cake, or there's still some chocolate if you prefer :)
Carrot cake now, Chocolate cake later. mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm
God I could really go some cake right now!
