real-life lucy

As I was waiting at the bus stop this evening, I overheard the conversation between the other two people waiting and noticed one of them was a fellow C'lander. I was half tempted to say something, but I decided I'd rather read my book than set myself up for a bus-ride's worth of awkward conversation. I ended up joining in the discussion about whether or not the bus on the other side of the street was in fact going in our direction, though, so he heard my accent and started talking to me. The conversation was fine, anyway, and he was fairly interesting. The reason I'm posting this is that, despite me telling him my name twice, when we parted ways, he said "It was very nice to meet you, Lucy".

That's spooky. Are you sure you haven't started introducing yourself by your blog pseudonym in public by mistake?

I referred to Geekman as "Geekman" to a real-life friend once by accident. I had to cover-up by pretending it was my nickname for him.

Wow--that's so weird that I don't even know what to say about it...but I actually called Jason "Jason" at his birthday party last weekend. Needless to say, that's not his real name. I don't think he noticed, but it kind of freaked me out. Also, a lot of times when I say GB's real name to other people, I have to stop and think if it's okay to do that.

Damn blogworld. :)
